FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 17, 2010) – Gov. Steve Beshear today recognized the sacrifice of three Fort Campbell soldiers who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

According to the Department of Defense, the following soldiers died Nov. 13 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, when an insurgent suicide bomber detonated a vest bomb and struck their unit.  They were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

     * Staff Sgt. Juan L. Rivadeneira, 27, of Davie, Fla.
     * Cpl. Jacob R. Carver, 20, of Freeman, Mo.
     * Spc. Jacob C. Carroll, 20, of Clemmons, N.C.
