Patsy was born, raised, and educated in Hickman County, the daughter of Novella and Henry Via and the sister of Tommy Via. She graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Education. She began a career in education at the Fulton/Hickman County Vocational School as a Business and Office teacher. Upon moving to Frankfort in 1978 she was employed by the Kentucky Department of Education with responsibilities related to the student data system for vocational enrollees in all 126 counties, all vocational centers, vocational students in the prison system, and the state vocational/technical schools.
Retired now and back home on the family farm Patsy is "living the dream" among 100 registered Tennessee Walking Horses of all sizes, colors, and ages. Photo opportunities abound just outside her front and back door. A lot of her time is spent arranging her photos on her brother's website www.viahorses.com.
