Governor Beshear was on hand on Monday, March 4th to dedicate a family owned candle making factory in the city of Fulton in Fulton County. The factory is moving into an existing facility that has been sitting idle for several years.

Local economic development official Eddie Crittenden had made it a top priority to get another business into the empty building. Crittenden is director of the Fulton- Hickman County Economic Development Partnership.

Beshear and local officials hailed M. V. P. Group International for its decision to locate a second factory in western Kentucky.  M. V. P. has a facility in Mayfield and a warehouse in Union City, Tennessee – only fifteen miles from the Fulton site.

When it is up and running full speed, M. V. P. expects to employ 150 workers. That’s a big deal in Fulton County.  With a 15% unemployment rate, Fulton County regularly ranks in the bottom ranks in Kentucky
