(Murray, KY) - Dr. Jack Rose is running for elected office for the first time ever. He threw his name in the hat to run against incumbent Murray Mayor Bill Wells.
Dr. Rose isn't slowing down in his first year of retirement. He's out and about every day that's not raining cats and dogs, putting up yard signs, attending local events and knocking on doors.
Rose is using shoe leather and social media in his campaign. His "Walk Across Murray" campaign is being posted on Facebook - neighborhood by neighborhood. The veteran educator is seamlessly blending new social media with an old fashioned press the flesh door to door strategy.
Rose comes to politics after a long and distinguished career in education. He retired from MSU in 2014 after having served as Dean of the College of Education and a professor in the Department of Educational Studies, Leadership and Counseling. He served as superintendent of Calloway County Schools and director of Schools in Columbia, Tennessee.
Why not enjoy his retirement?
"My life has been greatly enhanced from my youth throughout my career by this community. I see this as an opportunity to give back and to serve.
