Meg Hancock, a senior at Paducah Tilghman High School, has been invited to be one of only 90 outstanding student artists and scholars from across the country to attend Princeton University's Creative Arts and Humanities Symposium.

The goal of the symposium, which runs from October 16-18, is to offer students an opportunity to obtain a glimpse of what it means to explore an area of the arts or humanities in a college setting. Hancock was nominated by administrators at Paducah Tilghman and invited to participate by Princeton's Dean of Admissions.

The all-expenses-paid weekend will allow students to get a taste of a Princeton education while exploring dance, theater, film, music, writing, and visual arts at a university level. Participants will work closely with Princeton's accomplished professors in cross-disciplinary workshops and seminars.

Hancock is the first from Paducah Tilghman and the region to receive an invitation to Princeton's event. This is the program's fifteenth year.
