(Fancy Farm KY) - Jim Gray, Mayor of Lexington, and millionaire owner of Gray Construction, appeared unfazed by heckling at his first appearance at Fancy Farm.
Gray began his five minute speech by introducing himself as "the guy who's going to beat Rand Paul" to Senator McConnell who called him a "nobody" during his seven minute speech.
Jim Gray characterized himself as a job creator, saying his company had finished over 500 projects. He said as Mayor, he got things done by compromising, working with unions on retirement issues. Lexington, according to Gray, has come through tough budget times in the black.
The candidate didn't shy from taking shots at his opponent. Rand Paul, he said, comes from a "family whose business is running for president."
Gray supporters held up the t-shirts at right during Gray's speech.
