St. Johns Picnic this year was a very much quieter event than it's bigger, noisier cousin over in Fancy Farm. Candidates took a few shots at each other, but they were not particularly new and not particularly unexpected.
The crowd was sparse - possibly because advertising for the picnic and news reports universally omitted the time of the political speaking.
The emphasis this year was on dinner being served at the Knights of Columbus across the four lane highway from the church and the speaking pavilion.
With that being said, it was a beautiful day for a picnic and we took lots of pictures.
