Sheriff of McCracken announces re-election bid
Sheriff Jon Hayden announced today he is running for re-election.  Of his last three years, Hayden said in a press release "Since taking office, we have made many improvements in the operation of the sheriff’s office, also making changes in policies, and procedures, which have improved the level of professionalism, and the service we provide to the citizens of Paducah and McCracken County.
 
We have taken much more of a proactive approach to law enforcement compared to being reactive. Our drug enforcement efforts have been relentless and will continue to be over the next four years..."

2009 Was A Wild Weather Year for Kentucky
Kentucky was the 8th most active state for severe weather in the United States for 2009. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA, during 2009, a total of 815 severe weather events struck Kentucky. These severe weather events consisted of 38 tornadoes, 254 hail storms, and 523 wind storms.
