Democrats Unite in 1st District against Republican Rudy Tom French, aquatic-farmer, small businessmen and political change agent has decided to support Mike Lawrence in Lawrence’s race for securing the heavily Democratic House District located in far Western Kentucky. French was the 2006 Democratic candidate against Republican Rudy for this House seat. French said today, “That his decision not to run again was to ensure that the Democrats would be united in their campaign to take back the 1st.” French, a Hickman County native stressed the fact of geography against Rudy. “Mike has a strong base in McCracken County. I have a solid network of supporters in the lower river counties. Together, we can unify our resources and our forces to make sure in 2008 that the 1st House District is again Democratic.” Mike Lawrence, McCracken County Circuit Clerk, filed his official papers January 8, 2008 to run for Kentucky House of Representative District 1. Lawrence will be facing two term incumbent Republican Steve Rudy
