House Bill 145, a statewide ban, passed the House Health and Welfare Committee today. There were a few dissenting votes.

If the bill becomes law, indoor smoking in public places will be banned everywhere in Kentucky.

One of the bill's sponsors, Rep. Susan Westrom, predicted the bill would be amended on the floor of the House.
