Grants fund a variety of community needs
(Jan. 13, 2020) - Gov. Andy Beshear and Department for Local Government (DLG) Commissioner Dennis Keene today announced grants to four western Kentucky communities.
Lotus, a a McCracken County-based sexual assault support center, received $360,000 to buy two acres of land and develop an outdoor nature preserve. Murray received $500,000 for a new fire station to replace two aging and outdated stations. Cadiz received a $340,227 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to improve handicapped accessibility at the Janice Mason Art Museum. The biggest grant of one million dollars went to Hopkins County for a sewage treatment plant in Dawson Springs.
